I know I say this often, but how does time move so fast???
My student teachers are finishing up their 5 weeks and May is just around the corner. Before I know it, the school year is going to be over and I will be saying goodbye to another group of kids.
This came up the other day while I was working with a small group of students at my guided reading table.
“Are you going to teach Grade 4 next year?” one of my naughtiest little boys asked me.
“Nope, I’m going to stay teaching Grade 3 and you will go on to Grade 4 with a new teacher.” I responded rather nonchalantly as I was busy helping another student at the table.
“We’re really going to miss you” was his response.
I didn’t immediately say anything because I was engaged in a conversation with another student.
“Mrs. Skinner, I said we are really going to miss you.” he said again, but a little louder.
“Good thing you will be right down the hall” I said “You can come by any time to say hi”
“Yeah” piped up another little boy “We can just walk down any time we want and say hi. That will be nice.”
As challenging as this year has been, these kids become mine and it’s still hard to see them go at the end of the year…ok, I’ll be honest, it’s harder to see some leave than others…
This week is a throwback to some of my favorites. I hope they are yours as well.

We really like these wraps. I am going to pair them with a salad to make it a full meal!
Maybe my most favorite salad ever….
A great, easy soup that is full of flavor. I can’t believe I don’t have a picture of this after all the times I have made it!
A great sandwich because it has two of my favorite things: bacon and caramelized onions.
